Choral Music 10 to 12 students will continue to develop musical understanding through choral singing. They will further develop their vocal and ensemble technique, music literacy, music history and theory skills. Assessment may include teacher observation of rehearsal skills and performances, written assignments and individual recordings.
NOTE: With the exception of Choral Music 10 which is available in the timetable as regularly scheduled classes, these courses are only taught out of the timetable. Students must be able to attend classes at 7:15 am twice per week.

They will continue to improve their instrumental and ensemble technique, music literacy, music history and theory skills. Assessment may include teacher observation of rehearsal skills and performances, written assignments and individual recordings.

Beginning Band 8 is an introductory course where students will develop musical knowledge through learning to play a wind instrument. This course is intended for those students who have not had any or very little( less than one year) experience with a wind instrument. Students will develop their instrumental and ensemble technique, music literacy, music history and theory skills. Assessment may include teacher observation of rehearsal skills and performances, written assignments and individual recordings. Students who have demonstrated performance readiness will transfer into Grade 8 Concert Band for the start of semester 2.
