Timetable in Graduation Years: Grade 10 – 12
In the graduation years, students have considerably more options in building a timetable. The table below is intended to guide students in building a timetable with the requirements of the BC Ministry of Education Graduation Program in mind.
• Required = Required by Ministry for BC Ministry of Education Diploma( Dogwood)
• Recommended = Some post-secondary institutions require credit in this subject area to apply to an undergraduate program( e. g. University of British Columbia requires a Grade 11 language credit)
• Elective = Student choice; however a minimum of 28 credits to be completed
• Prerequisite- A course which must be completed in order to continue study in higher level courses. For example, Science 10 is a prerequisite for Chemistry 11.
• Corequisite- A course which must be completed at the same time as another course. For example, Pre-Calculus 12 and Calculus 12 are corequisites.
When selecting courses, students should begin with required courses before selecting elective courses. Attention must also be given to courses that a student intends on studying in future years as some courses have prerequisite courses or courses that are recommended.
