Active Living 11 focuses on three big ideas; participation in physical activity as an important component of health and wellbeing, exploring the connection with enjoying recreational activities and the motivation to participate in more regular physical activity, and the role of safety and injury prevention practices in allowing lifelong physical activities. Through a variety of physical activities, individualized health and fitness plans, related volunteer work and service, students learn the necessary skills and understanding to be active over their lifetime. Students also engage in professional certification training in CPR-C and Sport First Aid. Assessment will take place through health assignments, self, peer, and teacher evaluations of physical literacy, a fitness inquiry project, and participation rubrics for leadership, fair play, and safety.

Assessment will further extend on investigation of health assignments, self, peerevaluations of physical literacy, a peer fitness inquiry project, and participation rubrics for leadership, fair play, and safety.
