Classroom-based , using a variety of inquiry-based strategies nomenclature , the mole concept , chemical reactions and stoichiometry , gases , and organic chemistry . Students will demonstrate their understanding of different standards through a variety of assessments . They will be given multiple opportunities to show progress for each standard .

AP Biology is a modern molecular course designed to provide the major concepts applicable to all branches of biology . Students in this course will develop an understanding of the process of evolution , and how biological systems utilize free energy and molecular building blocks to grow , to reproduce , and to maintain dynamic homeostasis . They will also learn about how living systems store , retrieve , transmit , and respond to information essential to life processes . They will continue to improve skills in problemsolving , statistical analysis , and inquiry-based learning . Assessment includes tests , lab reports , and assignments . Based on availability , a mandatory excursion trip to the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre will be held in the spring of 2025 .

Chemistry 12 students will further refine competencies in communication , critical thinking , and personal and social awareness as they engage in the scientific process , experimental design , and laboratory skill acquisition . Students will study reaction kinetics , equilibrium , solubility , acid-base chemistry , and oxidation-reduction . Students will communicate their understanding through a variety of assessments that may include quizzes , tests , laboratory reports , projects and assignments .
