This advanced full year course combines digital film literacy with highly employable skills such as leadership , collaboration , planning , creative problem solving and persuasive messaging . Students are encouraged to take creative risks in the creation of a portfolio of short films expressing their personal voice as a filmmaker . Advanced technical and practical classes will be interspersed with the study of film in its social , cultural and historical contexts . In-depth film analyses will support students in the analyzing , and interpretation of their own work , and the works of others , in addition to synthesising constructive feedback . Students will work individually and collaboratively exploring the ethical and legal implications of video production , exploring the persuasive powers of film and demonstrating leadership and initiative as they make connections through moving images on a
Drama 8 is an introductory semester course that uses student-centred instructional techniques , including project-based learning , group work , hands-on learning , and inquiry . The students learn the essential elements of drama and theatre through exploration into improvisation , storytelling techniques , physicality and stage picture , and technical skills . This course is a foundation for Drama 9 , in which students will partake in both collective and individual exercises . Assessment will include both process and performance .
