Textiles 12 is an advanced textiles course for students with extensive knowledge in clothing construction . Students will independently choose their own projects to satisfy a variety of learning outcomes . Students may use computerized pattern drafting software and complex commercial patterns . Their fashion portfolio will include extensive fashion design and illustration work where they will build on existing skills . Assessment may include : portfolio work , written assignments , fashion illustration , sample work , garment construction , and project work . The goal of this course is to expose students to global issues and perspectives , and to illustrate how technology can be utilized to create solutions , spark innovation , and fuel expression . Through project-based learning , students explore 3D modeling , 3D printing and rapid prototyping , and programming and app creation . Assessment is standards based , with ongoing formative and summative assessment of course work and project elements .
