Pre-Calculus 12 focuses on the Big Ideas of inverse operations , mathematical modeling , and transforming functions . These Big Ideas and the content areas are connected through the competencies of reasoning , understanding , communicating , and connecting ; in addition , students ’ mathematical habits of mind are strengthened through these competencies . Topics include transformations , trigonometry , logarithms , rational functions , polynomial functions , geometric sequences and series , and extensions . This course is intended for students with a strong mathematics background who are interested in both theoretical and applied mathematics .
