Foundations 11 focuses on the Big Ideas of proportional relationships , optimization , logical reasoning , and statistical analysis . These Big Ideas and the content areas are connected through the competencies of reasoning , understanding , communicating , and connecting ; in addition , students ’ mathematical habits of mind are strengthened through these competencies . Topics include forms of mathematical reasoning , angle relationships , linear inequalities , quadratic functions , systems of equations , optimization , applications of statistics , scale models , financial literacy , and extensions . This course is intended for students with a strong mathematics background who are interested in social sciences and applied mathematics .
Pre-Calculus 11
Foundations 12 focuses on the Big Ideas of probabilistic thinking , modeling data , financial decisions , and geometrical relationships . These Big Ideas and the content areas are connected through the competencies of reasoning , understanding , communicating , and connecting ; in addition , students ’ mathematical habits of mind are strengthened through these competencies . Topics include constructions , conicis , fractals , graph of functions ( polynomial , exponential , logarithmic , and sinusoidal ), regression analysis , combinatorics , probability , statistics , financial planning , and extensions . This course is intended for students with a strong mathematics background who are interested in social sciences and applied mathematics .
