Crofton House School
The transcript of students enrolled in AP courses report a school-generated percentage similar to every other CHS courses . Students who elect to write a final AP exam receive a score up to 5 that a student may choose to make available to universities . AP exam results are released in early July . It is the student ’ s responsibility to follow through on this decision by following the instructions on the College Board website .
Each post-secondary institution has its own policies and procedures around AP exam acceptance and designation of AP grades and standing . There are two places to inquire . Through a link on the College Board website , the 4-digit code for an institution provides a general overview . The best and most accurate source is the institution itself . Students are encouraged to check with the post-secondary institution of interest about their individual AP policies , including whether students are required to write the final AP exam .
Independently Enrolled AP Courses and Exams
Students may elect to pursue AP courses and exams independently . Prior to enrolling in any course , including AP , outside of Crofton House School , students are urged to speak with a member of Student Services . When it comes to a post-secondary admission profile , American post-secondary institutions value students reporting AP courses taken at school more highly than students reporting an independent , self-studied AP exam . These institutions take into account the context of the school and are aware of the courses that we offer .
If , after serious consideration , students choose to pursue an independent AP course and want to write the exam at CHS , they will be required to register for the exam through Student Services in February . The school facilitates the writing of an AP exam for courses completed independently for Grade 11 and 12 students unless there are extenuating circumstances pre-approved by the school administration . These scores will not be included on nor reported from a CHS transcript . of exam registration and for the cost of invigilation . Total cost for each exam is $ 200 . Students who are absent from their scheduled AP exam will still incur a charge for the exam , and there is an additional fee for late sittings . These will appear as re-charges to the student ’ s account .
