A "DOG" ON SHAME

You can help stray, abused, and neglected animals today! What can I do, you might ask. Well, your options aren’t limited. Sure the pound takes care of most homeless animals but conditions aren’t very well off there. They get food, water, and shelter but they don’t get a happy life. To ensure that animals get the happy lives they deserve, animals are in need of loving and caring families. You can accomplish leaps and bounds by adopting one of these animals and giving them the love they so desperately need. If you are not in the mood for adoption then you can help at the Pet Co in Short Pump in the front parking lot where BARK meets and walks dogs to show them to potential owners. They are all loving animals who will love you right back.

Each year, around 10 million animals are abused. When animals are subject to abuse they never forget, which is why most of the times when you adopt an animal that has been subject to abuse, they really don’t warm up to you for a while. Their trust that they had in humans has been taken away, and you must show them that you are not there to harm them. Abuse comes in different forms such as kicking, hitting, and verbal abuse. Words hurt just as much as physical abuse, whereas physical abuse can go away, but verbal abuse stays with you forever. Even though people think dogs don’t understand what we mean when we say it sometimes, they can still tell your emotions by the tone of your voice.

Abuse comes in all forms. One of these is neglection. Neglection is when owners of animals fail to recognize their pets and treat them like they are not even there. How would you like to be ‘shunned’? Well? Think about it. The same thing you would feel is exactly how animals do feel when they are ignored. Help stop animal neglection today. Show love. And care about what troubles animals are going through, right now.
