to affect the material world, is actually possible. If you do not believe this to be so, do a little
research on Noetic Science.
As a group, the Abus Coritani have proof that magic works, and specifically weather magic. In
just over 4 years of doing outdoor rituals in our local area, at least eight times every year, we
have never had any real rain during a ritual, before … yes, after … yes, but never during!
So the druid is many things, poet and story teller, healer and seer, shaman, priest, magician,
walker between the worlds, and I count my blessings everyday that my feet found this path.

Philip Heselton talk
This much awaited talk was well attended, especially as it was straight after the New Year
break, being held on the 4th January.
Philip is the leading authority on Gerald Gardner and has written several books about him and
the birth of modern wicca, as well as several books on various aspects of Earth energy.
Philip treated us to an enjoyable, amusing and informative talk on the life and magical journey
of Gerald Brosseau Gardner though was unfortunately unable to show us his presentation as
the projector was not working! No matter! It was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
He also brought a selection of his books to sell, so while we enjoyed the customary cakes and
wine, we could also browse the books, and ask Philip any questions, which many did.
All in all it was a very enjoyable and informative afternoon that I would have been sorry to
miss, not least because I got 2 new books!
