PACESETTERS

FIND YOUR PERFECT

PACE

Whether you ’ re aiming for a 40-minute finish or planning to cruise home in 80 minutes at the Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K , you can run with one of the official pacesetting buses and let our experienced pacesetters help you achieve your race goal .

At the front end of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K , the leading men will be looking to run a time of around 28 to 29 minutes , if not faster , in order to win the race , while the top women will need something around 31 to 32 minutes to take line honours . However , they will not be the only athletes aiming for a time goal when the starting gun is fired .

All runners taking part in the race , right the way to the back of the pack , will have their own race goals and pacing targets to chase . For that reason , there will be official Absa RUN YOUR CITY Pacesetters in action on race day , and all runners are invited to catch one of the ‘ buses ’ driven by these experienced volunteers , who will
help you to reach your target time . Your official Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K Pacesetters for 2023 will be :
Time
40min 45min 50min 55min 60min 65min 70min 80min
Pacesetter
Xolani Nteyi Abelang Mosweu Lungisa Mkosi Jabulani Dube Buks van Heerden Nolukhayo Madlingozi Nchancha Nazo Mkhokheli Malghas
You will be able to identify them on race day by their allblack Puma Pacesetters kit and their official pacing flags , showing their target times and their names , and we ’ ve asked all the pacesetters to be at the start about 30 minutes before the race start , so that runners can find them and meet them before the start . The pacesetters will line up at the start according to their pace times , with faster pacesetters near the front of the field , and slower pacesetters nearer the back of the field .
So , look out for the guys and girls with the flags at the start , or along the route , and either run with them in the bus , or use them as a gauge of your own pace and finishing time .
