RACE INFO
TOG BAGS
1 . There will be a tog bag drop and collect area inside the Suncoast Parking P3 .
2 . Tear off the tog bag tag from your race number and attach it to your tog bag before handing it over to the tog bag staff .
3 . Hand your bag to our friendly staff at the Tog bag area and they will safely store your bag till after the race .
4 . PLEASE do not bring valuables to the event .
START PROCEDURE
1 . Start : Masabalala Yengwa Avenue 2 . Race Start Time : 08:00
3 . Runners are seeded according to the times they indicated during the entries process .
4 . The letter on your race number is your start batch .
5 . You will be pre-loaded in your start batch , so please arrive at the start early , to avoid any last-minute rush .
6 . Batches will be moved forward towards the start line as the race commences .
7 . Announcers will make regular announcements in the countdown to the race start . When indication is given , you will then be allowed to start the race . Your running time will commence when you cross the start line , i . e . mat-to-mat timing .
8 . Your time will be ranked in one overall set of race results , but only those in the Contender categories will be eligible for any awards and prize money .
REFRESHMENT STATIONS , WASTE & EN ROUTE TOILETS
1 . There will be two well-stocked refreshment stations positioned along the route to ensure that your hydration needs are adequately catered for .
2 . Water and Coke will be provided in 175ml paper cups , and take note that water will be in white cups , Coke will be in red Coca-Cola branded cups . We do encourage runners to bring along their own water bottles or hydration packs , and we will have refilling stations available at the water points .
3 . The stations will be manned and well spread out to ensure that everyone is catered for .
4 . Very large throw areas (‘ chuck bins ’) will be positioned after each of the refreshment points . Please ensure that all waste is deposited in these throw areas .
5 . Toilet facilities will be provided at each refreshment station .
6 . Please use the toilets provided – do not use private gardens or public areas .
MEDICAL
1 . There will be a medical team on the entire route and a roving paramedic , in ER24 uniform . Please report any incidents to the closest refreshment or entertainment point . The emergency telephone number to call is 082 991 0045 .
2 . Additional emergency medical crew will have access to the No Go Zone before and after the Finish , and a general medical area will be positioned at the end of the finish chute .
CUT-OFF TIMES
1 . No late starters : Runners should note that the start line will officially close at 08:20 , which is 20 minutes after the start time of the race . No late starters will be allowed on the route after that .
2 . Midway cut-off : A cut-off will be instituted at 5km on the route , and runners that have not passed this mark by 10:00 will be picked up and moved to the Promenade , from where they will be allowed to finish the race . These runners will still receive a finish time .
PACESETTERS
1 . A number of runners will be kitted out as pacesetters and will carry flags advising fellow runners of the time they will be aiming to complete the race in .
2 . Please join a pacesetting group that suits your pace .
3 . The following pacesetter buses will be available : 40min , 50min , 60min , 70min , 80min , 90min .
