INSTRUCTIONS
RACE DAY PARKING & BUS TRANSPORT
START PROCEDURE & BATCHES
REFRESHMENT STATIONS, WASTE & EN ROUTE TOILETS
Pre-Event
1. The Park and Ride bus service is free of charge for all runners.
1. Start Precinct: Woodbridge Island, Milnerton. 2. Race Start Time: 09h00
1. There will be two well-stocked refreshment stations positioned along the route( 3.1km and 7.2km) to ensure that your hydration needs are adequately catered for.
2. There is ample parking in the city surrounding the Grand Parade and Finish area. Please park your vehicle and make your way to Grand Parade, where you will board the MyCiTi and Golden Arrow busses that will transport you to the start at Woodbridge Island, Milnerton.
3. The first bus leaves at 05h30 and the last bus leaves at 08h20. Please ensure you arrive early.
4. Time your arrival at the start to ensure that you are well in advance of your allocated batch start time.
5. Please note that parking is on a first come, first served basis.
3. Runners are seeded according to the times they indicated during the entries process, and must line up in their correct chutes, which will be marked with relevant signage, e. g. a big letter A for Batch A. The letter on your race number denotes your start batch, and note that you are not allowed to move up from your allocated batch, e. g. a Batch D runner may not line up in Batch C. The full starting list will be ordered as follows:

2. The first section of each refreshment station will cater for those runners who wish to refill their own water carriers. Please bring along your water bottle or hydration pack filled with your choice of fluid and refill at the stations along the route.
3. The second section of each refreshment station will provide water in Coca-Cola paper cups.
4. The third section of each refreshment station will provide Coca-Cola in red 175ml Coca-Cola branded paper cups.
5. The stations will be manned and well spread out to ensure that everyone is catered for.
6. Do not leave valuables in your vehicle.
Post-Event
1. Buses will depart from Walter Sisulu( CTICC) and transport runners to Woodbridge Island at the end of Union Road.
2. The first bus leaves at 10h30 and the last bus leaves at 14h00.
4. You will be pre-loaded in your start batch, so please arrive at the start well in advance of the 09h00 event start time.
5. Batches will start with short intervals in between them to ensure safety and free running condition for all participants. Batches will be moved forward towards the start line as the race commences – please follow the instructions of the race officials and event commentators.
6. Very large throw areas(‘ chuck bins’) will be positioned after each of the refreshment points. Please ensure that all waste is deposited in these throw areas.
7. Toilet facilities will be provided at each refreshment station. Please use the toilets – do not use private gardens or public areas.
CUT-OFF POINTS
TOG BAGS
1. There will be tog bag drop and collect facilities at the Start Race Village( Woodbridge Island), which will be transported to the Finish Race Village and parked in Loop Street for your collection.
2. Tear off the tog bag tag from your race number and attach it to your tog bag before handing it over to the tog bag staff.
3. Place your bag in the tog bag container that corresponds to your start batch.
4. PLEASE do not bring valuables to the event.
6. Participants in wheelchairs will be required to start at the back of the field.
7. Announcers will make regular announcements in the countdown to the race start. When indication is given, you will then be allowed to start and cross the start line. Your running time will commence when you cross the start line, i. e. mat-to-mat timing.
8. Participants arriving late will have the opportunity to start in the final batch.
9. The start line will close at 09h30.
10. Your time will be ranked in one overall set of race results, but only those in the Contender categories will be eligible for any awards and prize money.
1. Due to running in the CBD and along a section of the N1 Outbound Highway, runners will need to pass two cut-off points by specific times.
2. Cut-off # 1: Pass 4km by 10h30 At Caltex Garage entrance in Marine Drive Runners who miss this cut-off will be transported to Refreshment Station 2, at the 7.2km mark.
3. Cut-off # 2: Pass 8.3km by 11h25 In Adderley Street, near the Absa Cheer Zone Runners who miss this cut-off will be diverted to the finish
4. These cut-offs have been calculated to allow for slower athletes in the last starting batch to still be able to run or walk at a comfortable pace.
