The rear is dominated by the two tails inspired by the 512 S which, integrated with the active wing, compose a patented aerodynamic solution. The sculpted rear bumper underlines the car’ s sporty stance, emphasising the width, while the central section is characterized by the modelling around the iconic round tailpipes. The tail is completed by a full-width diffuser, which is very pronounced in the centre, and which enhances the sense of extreme performance.
MOTORING NEWS
The forged wheels, developed in close collaboration with the aerodynamics department, feature prominent aerodynamic profiles with extended diamond-cut treatment. This design optimizes air extraction from the wheel well and controls wake. Their geometries also allow for extensive aesthetic and functional customization.
The car ' s clean compositional form is evident in its plan view. The front bumper ' s protruding flicks and the two rear tail sections work together to define the car ' s perimeter harmoniously. The rear screen seamlessly integrates with the two tail sections, further emphasizing the cab-forward effect.
This model seamlessly integrates Ferrari ' s advanced retractable hardtop( RHT) technology. With the roof closed, it mirrors the volumes of the 849 Testarossa, a testament to the parallel development efforts of the design and engineering teams. When open, the car ' s distinctive double-tail architecture, which defines the 849 Testarossa ' s roofline, becomes a striking focal point, creating a unique overall design.
A standout feature is the deeply sculpted, three-dimensional door design, a first for a standard production car. Crafted from a single aluminum alloy moulding using Ferrari ' s advanced manufacturing processes, this door redefines the relationship between the car body and the cabin. Functioning as an aerodynamic duct, it contributes to the car ' s distinctive momentum and architecture. The contrasting black vertical side intake further reinforces this architectural imprint, feeding air to the intercooler and introducing a three-dimensional livery concept. This crease line extends rearward, culminating in a 512 S-inspired double tail that visually compacts the cabin and lends a more cab-forward design.
The front has structured volumes that recall Ferrari geometries from the 1980s. A bridgelike horizontal fascia connects the headlights, recalling the styling theme already used on the Ferrari 12Cilindri and F80. This element creates a new ratio between volumes and voids in the surface treatment which creates a full-width spoiler effect. The body-coloured flicks and the black splitter complete the lower area of the bumper, reinforcing the technical and aerodynamic characteristics.
INTERIOR
The interior blends the horizontal dashboard of a berlinetta with the cockpit of a single-seater. The dashboard ' s upper section appears to float, featuring ' C '-shaped aluminium-framed air vents. A contrasting horizontal band, housing main controls and the passenger screen, separates the upper and lower dashboard sections. The lower dash is defined by two architectural " sail " motifs that integrate control functions. Notably, an F80-inspired gear gate is integrated in a floating position within the sail on the steering wheel side. The central tunnel has been re-engineered for a more streamlined and minimalist distribution of secondary commands. This " sail " theme is echoed on the door cards, where it incorporates a woofer with an aluminium grille, which also serves as the door pull.
The interior design prioritizes space optimization and enhanced ergonomics. Accessibility is improved by a reduced width at the bottom of the door panel and adjacent areas, providing more room for the rear bench and the passenger-side glove box. Two seat versions are available: comfort, featuring sculpted upholstery that complements the cockpit ' s geometry, and a carbon-fibre racing seat with sporty side bolsters for superior lateral support. Both versions are the result of a combined focus on ergonomics and style.
HMI
The 849 Testarossa Spider ' s steering wheel seamlessly blends digital and analog functionalities. It retains the mechanical controls and the iconic Engine Start button from the F80, while its digital cluster enables swift adjustments to electric driving modes via the eManettino.
The user interface is designed to center functions around the driver, creating an immersive experience that extends to the door panel and central tunnel. This effect is mirrored in the passenger area, though in a less overt manner. Connectivity is robust, featuring compatibility with Apple CarPlay ® and Android Auto ®, alongside integrated wireless smartphone charging in the central tunnel. Furthermore, the vehicle incorporates the MyFerrari Connect system, facilitating remote monitoring through a dedicated App.
