Rustenburg’s gem
Award-winning e-CAR member,
Rustenburg Auto, has been
in the car service and
maintenance game for over
three decades.
The ever-green operation has consistently
delivered high quality workmanship, backed-up
by decades old know-how and experience in
the automotive servicing trade.

well, aBr’s interest in the venture
was piqued during the National e-CAR
Indaba, held at the Wanderer’s Club in
Johannesburg earlier this year. During the
annual event, Rustenburg Auto owner, Joao
Amorim, was presented with a cheque for
R25 000 from e-CAR Manager, Wilfried
Langenbach. Joao accepted the award
on behalf of the business, which took the
2013 e-CAR Workshop of the Year title.
The e-CAR Workshop of the Year award
recognises outstanding performance
among e-CAR members, in all facets of
business.
While aBr attempted to pinpoint the
reasons for this most recent success, Joao
remained modest and humble in victory.
“I was actually quite surprised that we won
the award,” he says. “We didn’t do anything
unusual during 2013 - we simply followed
the excellent advice given to us by e-CAR.
They provided us with a list of targets that
they wanted us to achieve and we simply
went about realising them. I think we stood
out because of the way we supported
e-CAR’s preferred suppliers, sent our staff
for regular training at the Robert Bosch
Training Centre, and generally met and
maintained all e-CAR standards.”
Rustenburg Auto was previously a Bosch
workshop, which meant the change to
e-CAR was not a complicated one.

and experience
Joao is very complimentary of
the e-CAR brand. “Belonging
to the e-CAR network
has opened many doors.
We joined the network in 2005
and have never looked back.
I liked the catchy name and
the fact that it was a young,
vibrant network. It gave me a
good feeling, and still does,”
he says with a smile.
