At the awards ceremony, the President of the Retail Motor Industry Organisation( RMI), Jeanne Esterhuizen, called on the broader automotive aftermarket to continue raising the bar when it comes to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence- values she says are fundamental to building a resilient and responsible industry. Speaking in her capacity as a judge at this year’ s awards, Esterhuizen commended the high standard of entries and emphasised that excellence in fleet management and road safety is never accidental.“ It is the result of deliberate choices, consistent practices, and measurable commitment. We are seeing more organisations that not only talk about what should be done but are implementing real strategies to protect lives, improve efficiency, and contribute to environmental sustainability.” She also reminded delegates that sustainability has a human face.
“ When truck stops and rest areas are safe, clean, and dignified, they show respect for the men and women who keep our economy moving. Respect for people must always underpin operational excellence.”
