Supercars with purpose
The Superkids Trust is all about making supercars do the work, for good.
In a world where there’ s so much talk of sacrifice and mindfulness, nothing purges self-pity like contact with critically ill kids. When your young life is a daily test of invasive medical procedures, painful tests and overwhelming chemical interventions to manage a debilitating illness, you develop fortitude like no other. Critically ill kids don’ t wade into the wallowing depth of self-pity.
For kids who have everything but a carefree, boundlessly playful childhood, distraction is welcome. Experiences that don’ t involve medical staff or the debilitating hours of recovering and processing powerful medicine. Or just having to deal with the extreme discomfort and pain of living through the treatment regimen of a critical disease.
For the Superkids Trust, that happy distraction function for critically ill kids is all about immersive supercar experiences. Getting kids out and into the left seat of some of the most regarded supercars from Porsche, Ferrari or Lamborghini. Having them experience something that is completely removed from their treatment and daily discomforts.
The Superkids Trust is a collective of supercar owners who take the time to do supercar drives with a difference. It’ s not about the owners and comparing supercar specs or future collectability. It’ s all about engaging with the critically ill kids and giving them a day out, to remember.
The first Gauteng Superkids event of 2026 symbolised everything that’ s great about using supercars for good. Melrose Arch was the destination, and the Superkids were thrilled by the journey and destination. And a big incentive for that destination is the rainbow cake from Tony’ s Cake Boss.
For supercar owners, not every weekend drive needs to be 10 / 10ths at a track day to get deep enjoyment from the unique experience of owning a lightweight RS or GT3-spec Porsche, or a limited-edition Italian supercar.
Giving back and sharing the experience of a rare supercar, has a different value and joy that it brings to the overall ownership experience. And that’ s exactly what the Superkids Trust enables. It allows supercar owners to sacrifice some time and have a truly grounding experience with their cars. Much less speed and mechanical wear involved, but every bit as rewarding as a track day.
In a world where supercar ownership can often become the subject of awkward social media reels, the Superkids Trust gives owners something truly authentic and purposeful to do with their cars. Enabling an experience for critically ill kids, where the cars serve as enablers of healthy escapism for kids who live extremely demanding daily medical journeys.
