FAW Trucks Southern Africa is proud to announce its strategic positioning for 2025, following the remarkable success of 2024, their best year yet
The South African truck market is expected to grow 1.77 % annually, reaching a projected market volume of 20,330 vehicle units by 2029. FAW Trucks Southern Africa, with its diverse product range and strong regional focus, is well-positioned to take advantage of these promising opportunities and capitalize on this growth.
In the upcoming quarter, FAW will be launching a series of new innovative models aimed at meeting the changing demands of the logistics and transportation industry. Building on their success in 2024, they’ ve set new record targets for both brand and product.
To support this growth, the Coega Development Corporation has planned a significant R200 million investment to expand the Coega plant’ s production capacity from 5,000 to 8,000 units per year.
The South African logistics market is expected to experience a compound annual growth rate of 6.8 % between 2025 and 2030, potentially reaching USD 137.4 billion by 2030.
Transportation, warehousing, and distribution services are expected to be the primary drivers of this expansion. For sustainable growth to be achieved, inefficiencies in critical areas such as rail and port systems must be addressed.
FAW’ s approach for 2025 is to address market challenges by providing robust and efficient turnkey solutions. This will be achieved by continuing to innovate in commercial vehicle technology, expanding their dealer network throughout Africa, and enhancing customer support and aftermarket service.
