In light of the intemperate comments on his Facebook page about bikers by an ex-editor of aBr, we decided to devote a page each month
in aBr to biking, partly as penance for his appalling behaviour, but also partly because bikes are cool, and we are sure our readers will
benefit from these pages. And of course it gives our ex-editor a chance to undo the damage
he has done, so we kept this page open for his contribution, as well as feedback on his
rehabilitation efforts with the biking community. Unfortunately, despite a reminder to him about
this commitment, a commitment of which he promised to keep in his apology in the previous
issue of aBr, he has missed the deadline. When this happens (and we are not surprised this has
happened), we need to go in search of material as standby, so when we were invited by Bavarian
Motorcycles in Centurion to the unveiling of the brand new 2014 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure
as well as the 2014 BMW R 1200 RT, we were there like a flash. The unveiling took place on the
evening of 26 February 2014, and we use the press release as the basis of our material.
