ANONIMO
Whether or not you consider Anonimo the cousin to or
bastard brother of the more renowned Panerai brand is up
to you. Both were originals brought to life by designer Dino
Zei, and both are fine watch brands. The difference is that
you can buy four or five Anonimos for the price of a single
(typical) Panerai! Whether you choose to argue the minutia
or not, Anonimo is an excellent option for maritime inspired
design - and considering the fact that the Nautilo retails for
under $2,000, and only 300 of this version will be made,
you might want to take one for yourself. Full sized at
44.4mm across, the 200-meter case will dive deeper
than you can and will look good doing it. Inside beats a
Swiss-made Sellita automatic. Yes it’s not an in-house
custom developed movement, but it will run as long and as
accurately as its more revered cousin that boasts its own
“in-house” mechanism.
