Chirundu Mall

Chirundu Shopping Center
With our move into Zambia taking place in July, we have had to
secure some work for Heinrich to start with when he arrives in
Zambia. Luckily we have managed to purchase a shopping centre
site in Chirundu.
The site is a really fantastic opportunity as there are no formal
shopping centres in Chirundu, and being located within a stone’s
throw of the border post, every truck or vehicle driving into
Chirundu or to the border needs to pass the site.
With the site being on quite a severe slope, we have decided to
split the shopping centre onto two levels, with the upper level
being the shopping centre proper and the lower section offices
for the clearing agents and other border related functions.
We have carried through with our principle that we have in
Botswana of employing local consultants and have engaged DSS
Design in association with Paul Munnik Architects, Civil Struts, R M
Consulting Engineers and MLC from Botswana, are being used as
our Quantity Surveyor.
The centre is relatively small and only has 4250m² of lettable
shops and 488m² of offices. We have already secured Shoprite as
the anchor tenant and Hungry Lion as our first food outlet.
Should everything go as planned, we will be on site in September
and with a planned 12 month construction program we should be
opening in September 2017.
We have engaged Knight Frank to do our letting, but if you want
to find out more, feel free to give Heinrich a call on telephone
number: +260 96 292 1664, Fax: +27 86 666 3376.
