AMERICAN BRANDS
TIMEX MARKS 165TH ANNIVERSARY
WITH NEW COLLECTION
Timex is bringing watch making home again at its headquarters in Middlebury, Connecticut with American
Documents collection. This edition is American-made with a Swiss quartz movement inside.
In order to punctuate the launch, Timex worked with photographer Bryan Schutmaat to document the
diverse American landscape and culture. Bryan traveled from the home of American watchmaking in the
Northeast, then through Texas, across the desert and ultimately arriving in the Rocky Mountains of Montana. As
the watches document American craftsmanship, the individually numbered and archived photographs document
the beauty of the country we call home.
The American Documents collection features four watches that celebrate American landscapes, landmarks
and more. According to Timex, each American Documents watch is hand assembled in Middlebury Connecticut
from a majority American made components including the drop forged stainless steel case, beveled hands, as
well as the dial and crown among other American made components. The leather straps are made with American
cowhides sourced from Minnesota, while the “Aged Waterbury Brass Finish” case back coin and crown insert
honor Timex’s original headquarters in Waterbury, Connecticut. Even the crystal over the dial is Gorilla Glass
3NDR made in Massachusetts. The American Document is available in four versions – all with a wearable 41
mm diameter case with a water resistance of 3atm. Retail price at www.timex.com is $495.
