M MECHANICALS RADO True Open Heart Automatic Rado’s True Open Heart Automatic features a variety of hues in the ceramic monobloc case and bracelets. The True is one of Rado’s most popular collections and takes Rado’s key elements – light, scratch resistant high-tech ceramic and sapphire crystal - and uses them to highlight the key elements of the movement inside. With geometric shapes on the cut out dial framing the gear trains, balance spring and movement plates, it’s clear to see what lies within this technical timepiece. And, with up to 80 hours of power reserve, there’s plenty in the movement to admire. Created in pioneering plasma, rich chocolate brown and gleaming polished black, the True Open Heart Automatic is not only an attractive addition to any look, it also offers the ultimate comfort of the high-tech ceramic Rado is famous for. Retail prices range from $2,050 - $2,200 depending on the model. RAYMOND WEIL RW1212 After launching its first in-house movement in 2017 in partnership with Swiss movement manufacturer Sellita, RAYMOND WEIL unveils a new skeletonized CALIBRE, the RW1212. This distinctive model showcases the nicely finished movement while it presents the visible balance wheel at 6:00. The freelancer Caliber RW1212 Skeleton is a two hand model that does not add confusion with superfluous hands or sub dials over the components of the Raymond Weil caliber. Framed by a 42mm steel case, the Caliber RW1212 beats at a frequency of 28,800 with a 38-hour power reserve and the customized oscillating weight has been skeletonized to increase the transparency of the timepiece. Retail price just squeaks over our limit at $2,595 but I have seen them offered for less than our $2,500 limit on line, new in box. 20 | AboutTime Magazine
