M MECHANICALS JUNGHANS Max Bill Automatic The self-winding watch was unveiled by Junghans to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bauhaus. 1,000 watches are offered in this limited edition Per Junghans; “The matt silver dial commemorates the white walls of the building in Dessau, and the anthracite colored case is representative of the striking façade. Designed in the color of the architects, the grey strap is inspired by the construction element of the Bauhaus: concrete. Guaranteeing ideal readability thanks to their clear and simplistic form, the red hands mirror the color design of the famous red doors of the Bauhaus in Dessau. A hue which is even more prominent in the red date wheel. “ Can’t get much more romantic about a watch than that. On to the stats; inside the slim 38mm x 9.7mm case is a Junghans automatic with a 38 hour power reserve visible through a partially see-through back engraved to celebrate the school of Bauhaus. Price was not given at time of publication so place your bets. I’m guestimating this watch will land between $1,250-$1,750.
