A AMERICAN BRANDS ORION W hat started with an heirloom 1955 Omega Constellation and the quest to repair it eventually turned into a hobby, an education, a career and a new watch brand, not necessarily in that order. “Orion is more than a watch line,” says founder Nick Harris. “Part of its intention was to help [me] fund the expenses of watchmaking school, which is a full time undertaking.” But there’s more to it than that, says Harris, “It’s the first step in my personal mission to bring more horology back into the United States.” Shown here, the Orion watch, which is assembled in the U.S., features a 38mm steel case, luminous indexes and hands, 100-meter water resistance and an easy to manipulate over- size screw-down crown. 82 | AboutTime Magazine
