AMERICAN BRANDS
LUCKY FIND
A
ccording to Merriam Webster, “Trouvaille”
is by definition a lucky find. AboutTime
found them in our ongoing search for
American based brands and we are happy to share
the New York based brand with you.
Trouvaille watches are represented in two fami-
lies of quartz and mechanically motivated timepieces
in a series of designs that run the gamut from casual
elegance, to all out sport. As noted on the dial, this
American brand has looked to Switzerland to devel-
op a particularly high level of quality and finish - both
inside and out. Utilizing a direct to consumer sales
strategy has also allowed Trouvaille to offer a great
value argument. Their quartz watches range from
$200-$475 while mechanical options range from
$850 for and ETA 2824 powered automatic up to
$1,850 for a Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph.
What every Trouvaille has in common are tradi-
tional designs built with components that stand the
test of time. Crafted in stainless steel, every varia-
tion whether quartz or mechanical, men’s or ladies,
are rated as water resistant to 10atm. AboutTime
readers know that this is one of my own personal pet
peeves as I tend to look askance at a watch claiming
a hallmark of quality like Swiss Made with anything
less than a 10atm submersible rating. It’s not so
much for the fact you might swim with a particular
watch, but more as an indicator of the overall quality
of construction. Another feature in common across
the board are the scratch resistant sapphire crystals
over the dials.
Founder and CEO Rizwan’s vision to cut out the
middlemen and bring his own high quality watch line
to life in a form that would remain in style indefi-
nitely has come to life. His dressier watches create
a simple chic look in a 40mm case while sportier
types take on a bolder façade and can grow as large
as 48mm. Trouvaille’s exceptional value is matched
by an equally impressive five year limited guarantee,
and because they want you to love what you bought,
Trouvaille also offers a 30 day return policy – as
long as the watch is returned as new with all original
packaging and documents.
