What prompted you to consider using ceramic for a Zodiac case ?
We ’ ve always been attracted by the allure of ceramic , not only for its resistance to wear and color fading over time , but the opportunities it will allow us to explore creatively .
How does Zodiac ’ s ceramic case differ from other ceramic watch cases ?
Our design is reinforced with a stainless steel core for added durability .
What advantages can a ceramic coating offer the wearer ?
Ceramic is scratch and corrosion resistant as well as non-hypoallergenic .
Zodiac collections ?
Too soon to tell , but could be a possibility .
How do you determine which Zodiac collection is built with an STP movement ?
All of our watches are built using our in-house STP movements unless the function of the watch is something other than what STP offers . We will only use non-STP movements in this circumstance and test the market ’ s reaction to the added function . If the watch is successful we will then invest in an in-house STP movement with that function .
Why should a watch enthusiast look to purchase a Zodiac watch over another Swiss-made sports model ? are built into all Zodiac watches ?
Our multi-link bracelet deployant has springs added so the clasp literally flexes when you move your wrist . We ’ ve chosen a K1-hardened crystal on our more colorful or lume-filled top rings to allow for brighter colors and to be more shatter resistant .
What would our readers be surprised to learn about Zodiac ’ s long history ?
Zodiac has had many creditable milestones in its 140-year history , but most notable is that it was considered among the first ever diver ’ s watches created for commercial diving when it was released at the Baselworld fair in 1953 .
Why did you choose the Super Sea Wolf , among all the Zodiac collections , to be the first to be made with ceramic ?
The Super Sea Wolf is the most iconic design from Zodiac ’ s rich legacy and known for distinct colors .
You will not get the same level of quality and prestige of a 140-year-old brand with an in-house movement from any other brand at our price points . The limited quantities we produce as well as the irreverent color makes a Zodiac watch not only a signifier of taste and sophistication , but also a statement .
