Timex
Finding a vintage look in a style you can afford just became a
whole lot easier thanks to the new direction and leadership at
Timex. For the last few years Timex has seemed to be in kind of
an idle mode. Now guided with a new vigor, the brand is ready
to apply its strength in creating affordable watches with an eye
on market preferences and trending designs. Case in point is the
Weekender collection. For less than $100 these new Timex models
feature a 40mm vintage case design with NATO style slide-through
straps in leather or nylon. A quartz chronograph movement inside
with the famous Indiglo dial lighting system are both modern
assets that power the retro look. Another great choice for the
budget-minded buyer is the Waterbury chronograph series (left).
Rated slightly better than the 3atm of the Weekender, the 5atm
rated Waterbury is also just a bit bigger at 42mm and like the
Weekender is available in a variety of case finishes and dial color
options. Still a bargain at $125, the Waterbury, like the Weekender, is available at www.timex.com
