New watches from four U. S.- based timepiece makers.

Tire’ d Watch Company
With two newer quartz collections, U. S.-based Tire’ d Watch expands its offerings well beyond its signature Rapide GX automatic line of tough, 44mm all-weather sports watches. The Tire’ d lineup now includes a colorful collection of left-side crown( 9 o’ clock position) chronographs called XTS and Trail Blade, a hand-crafted Swiss timepiece that retains the brand’ s sporty mission and, like the Rapide GX, features a crown at the 10 o’ clock position.
The Trail Blade collection( pictured in far right column) originally debuting a year ago, includes a lineup made using high-grade stainless steel and features a design inspired by the Atturo Trail Blade tire, an off-road auto tire with a significant three-ply sidewall. Adding to the automotive inspiration, the case was designed to mimic antique tire gauges. Tire’ d founder Ed Cole places the watch’ s large, knurled crown at 10 o’ clock so the wearer“ never feels the discomfort of the crown embedding itself in the back of the hand.”
You’ ll recognize the patterned dial and the cyclops-topped date from the Rapide GX collection, but here the hands differ in color and the dial now adds an Atturo Tire logo just below 12. The Ronda Powertech 505 quartz movement powers the collection. Water resistant to 100 meters, the 44mm Trail Blade is ready for action behind the wheel or outside in the mud or the rain. Prices begin at $ 545.
The newest Tire’ d collection, called XTS Chrono, offers the first tachymeter and printed chronograph counter bezel within the Tire’ d collection. As noted, its crown is positioned at 9 o’ clock, flanked by the two smooth and polished steel pushers that activate the Miyota OS62 quartz chronograph caliber inside. Models feature silicon strap color options while the 46mm case is offered in polished or blackened steel($ 250) or gun metal($ 275).
