Three For the Sea
Pixilated camo patterns add a depth and playful look to three water watches from U.S.-based Nixon. Functionality remains the same as each of
the previous incarnations and all are ready for action on or under water. Surf’s up with Nixon’s Lodown Silicone which has been built surfer specific and shows the current state and future tide tables on 270 beaches around the world. $150 gets you a water resistant rating to 10atm and
an ultra light watch that features a wave counter in addition to the chronograph, dual time, countdown timer, and previously mentioned Tidal
functions. Diving a bit deeper is the 20atm rated Super Unit ($200) that adds lap and lunar functions into the mix encased in a large 49mm
polycarbonate case. Lastly, Nixon’s Unit Dive comes in a few mm smaller at 46mm diameter and adds an automatic dive function that activates
the moment the watch is submerged to 1.5 meters (5 feet) and will track water temp, dive time and depth tracking functions. All those extra
SCUBA-centric functions will cost you $300.
