DeltaT looks to change the equation of time when it comes to the
traditional pilot’s watch - and it’s right there in their name, “Delta”. Delta
means change and “T” for time -- a change in time.
As a new brand out of Hong Kong, the level of quality and thought
in the brand from product to packaging and accessories is admirable,
especially for such a young line.
“Our goal with the SoRa collection is to honor the history of pilot’s
watches while creating something new and challenging of that tradition,”
says owner Hiro Cheng: And he makes no apologies or attempts to hide
the Hong Kong origins. “Let’s face it, many brands call themselves Swiss
or German but are essentially made in Hong Kong,” Cheng said. “We
embrace our roots and don’t obscure them.”
With a bold etching on the case back of the Kitty Hawk, the SoRA
line is evocative of dog fighters from both World Wars; a mix of classic
dials and modern touches that few standard aviator types achieve at
these price points. The entire collection will retail for under $700 and are
all a solid and wearable 44mm diameter rated water resistant to 10atm
and capped with a sapphire crystal. All models come in dry-box cases
and arrive with at least two straps, and more often three - one of which is
a heavy-duty bundt style.
Both cool and functional, each DeltaT also arrives with a functional
compass that can be slid on the strap to wear with the watch for
easy directional reference; feature pilots of the air, land and sea will
all appreciate.
