City noise and undiscovered places
To the beautiful history and peaceful scenery of the park comes in contradiction the event of the Open Gates of the
town. Also known by locals as the ―City Days‖ the event is always noisy and attracts many people with its shows,
food and cheer. The medieval theme of the Open Gates brings for the public a combination between modern art
imbined with the beauty of the medieval age. Because of the towns history locals are fascinated by the rustic feel of
the festival and dress as medieval ladies or knights to merge in with the atmosphere. The show is represented by circus
acrobats, flame throwers, comedians, theatre groups, knights battles, defilations and numerous musical groups. One of
the nowadays famous bands ,―Trooper‖, was founded in Targoviste, thus, they come almost every year to celebrate
and sing at the festival.
