Christchurch South Fruit & Veg Co op
You may have heard about the co op or read about it in the newspaper. The fruit and veg co op is helping our community by providing two bags full of fruit and veg for only $10.
By cutting out supermarkets and appreciating some awesome volunteers the co op can bring affordable fruit and veg to you too.
Currently there are a handful of distribution centres including Manuka Cottage, West spreydon School, Opawa Baptist Church and more.
How does it work?
A distribution centre being a school, church or your home registers with Addington Action for an information pack then every Wednesday you , your friends or neighbours collect orders and money.. Then each Wednesday morning you and/ or your friends help pack your orders at the Sydenham Community centre 9am till packed and bring orders back to your distribution centre (home or other place) for others to collect and pay for the next week.
There are training sessions available so that you understand the process well.
You can register and take orders for a few family and friends or your street, club or organisation. For more info phone or text Addington Action , Mike on 0272105042 or Manuka Cottage, Cherylan on 388 1613 or 0220175478.
