GOOD FOOD FOR
GATHERING WITH FRIENDS
AT THE IRISH BRED PUB
W
;
hether you order a favorite
on the menu or try
something new, each time
is a great dining experience
at the Irish Bred Pub. The service is
friendly and the balcony is now open for
lunch and dinner from Monday through
Saturday to enjoy the late spring nights,
weather permitting. From the balcony, you
can view the beautiful historic downtown
Covington area.
The service at the Irish Bred Pub is
friendly and they offer an amazing
selection of beer on tap. The menu is
extensive with Irish-inspired dishes.
Everything is fresh and made to order.
You can choose traditional fare or try their
twist to a dish.
For the traditional diner, the restaurant
has selections on the menu such as a
Rueben sandwich, bangers and mash, the
Knockmealdown Shepherd’s pie, Paddy’s
fish and chips, and Irish beef & Guinness
stew. There are also salads, wings, burger,
steaks, and more. While these are great, if
you want a modern twist to a traditional
dish, start off with an appetizer of Reuben
eggrolls or the blue cheese chips.
The blue cheese chips are amazing
with the gooey, blue cheese sauce and
bacon melting in your mouth. Or try the
deliciously wicked, IBP bacon, pimento
cheese dip. A flavorful favorite is the
beef stew. Or get one of the burgers made
from Certified Angus beef. If you are into
a full range of flavors, the gitty-up horsey
burger has horseradish smeared on it and
is topped with swiss cheese and smoked
mushroom salsa. It’s awesome! The chef’s
pick is the bacon jammed packed burger
with a combination of cheddar cheese,
chipotle aioli, and beer bacon jam. Pick a
side such as the onion rings, which are
hand cut.
And don’t forget dessert! People talk about
the bread pudding for a very good reason
– it’s amazing!
Wash it all down with a pint. The Irish
Bred Pub has a wide selection of beers
and spirits. Then, when you are done
eating in the evening, head upstairs to The
Listening Room for nightly entertainment.
It’s a great gathering place for friends.
If you come on Sundays, there is a Brunch
menu. On the menu are selections such
as steak and eggs, salmon or corned beef
Benedict, and stuffed French toast. There
is a good mix of traditional breakfast
items as well as some twists to favorites.
And if you have little ones, this restaurant
is kid friendly with separate menus
that also have good selections. There’s
something for everyone so come and
enjoy! 1115 Church St., Covington
