BIG CROWDS ANTICIPATED FOR
2017 COVINGTON FUZZ RUN
A
s one of the largest participatory
events in Covington, the 34th
Annual Fuzz Run is anticipated
to attract over 3,500 participants
to the area on Saturday, September 9,
2017. Hosted by the Covington Police
Department, the Fuzz Run includes a 5K
race, 1-mile fun run/walk, and Mary Beth’s
Bird Run (Dash). Runners come from all
over Georgia.
The race was voted “Best Race
in Georgia” for four consecutive years by
runners participating in the “Run and See
Georgia Grand Prix Series”.
With Covington dubbed The Hollywood of
the South®, it’s no wonder why everyone
wants to participate in the Fuzz Run
5K. The course goes through Historic
Downtown Covington, along gentle hills,
and past beautiful homes and businesses
that were used in popular film and TV
productions. As you run or walk, you’ll pass
familiar sights from The Vampire Diaries,
The Dukes of Hazzard, In the Heat of the
Night, and over 60 other productions.
The 5K race is a Peachtree Road
Race Qualifier and begins at 8:30am,
immediately following Mary Beth’s Bird
Run (Dash). The 1-mile fun run begins

An expo will precede the race on
Friday, September 8, 2017 from 8:00 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m. Registration packets will be
available at the expo or on the day of the
race. Race day registration begins at 6:00
a.m. on September 9, 2017.
