The most successful professionals belong to associations
for a host of reasons: to stay at the top of their game, to
provide leadership in their chosen field, to satisfy their
intellectual curiosity through research, and to enjoy the
meaningful collaboration with colleagues.
Established in 1991, the American Association of Hip
and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) has grown to become
the essential organization of hip and knee specialists.
Our mission is to provide leadership in education,
advocacy and research to achieve excellence in hip
and knee patient care. Our vision is to be the essential
organization of hip and knee specialists, functioning to
serve the needs of patients, care providers and policy
makers regarding hip and knee health.
Membership in AAHKS provides a host of
benefits to surgeons and the public at large,
as guided by our Strategic Plan.
• In education, we provide excellence in the
development and exchange of knowledge for
physicians, healthcare professionals and patients.
• In advocacy, we support and promote health policies,
programs and legislation that benefit hip and knee
patient care.
• In research, we develop, support and implement
programs to advance science and treatment of hip and
knee disease.
