Though its neighbors have already
shed their colors
in deference
to the preference
of the times,
The evergreen stands steady and
strong.
Retaining its color through it all,
Watching as its neighbors change
their hues
and replace them as the slightest
breeze indicates
with colors dictated by the
demands of the skies.
Cowards, they die many times
before their deaths.
Evidence of their vacillations
covers the ground.
But
The Evergreen stands
Steady
Strong
Sure in its decisions.
