Dear Majority

Why can’t you see?
The fire and passion buried inside,
Spark of light that’s hard to hide,
Why not me?
I am a proud 18-year-old of Diversity,
I stand out from the peers around me,
Yelling out in a crowd of many,
Hoping to catch your eye,
Working to learn to be another person,
Talented like all the others,
Yet you pass me,
I want to shine,
Yet my differences cast me aside,
Left in the background to moan and sigh,
I can make a scene,
Just give me a try,
It’s not easy being a minority in a crowd of majority,
The beautiful skin I am in makes it hard for me,
I have the same passion as everybody,
It’s insane how I can’t be treated the same,
At the end of the day,
I stay as I portray,
In the eyes of the creator’s image,
Look around you and tell me what you see,
Everyone has a story,
Why not choose me?
