Sauerkraut is a fermented food made from cabbage. It is a traditional staple of German cuisine. Sauerkraut is made by fermenting cabbage in brine, which allows the proliferation of beneficial lactic bacteria, known as probiotics.
Some benefits of sauerkraut:
Improves digestion: The probiotics present in sauerkraut help maintain the balance of the intestinal microbiota, improving digestive health and preventing problems such as constipation.
Strengthens the immune system: they help stimulate the production of antibodies and protect against infections.
Provides vitamins and minerals: Sauerkraut is rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, iron and fiber, which
contributes to the overall health of the body.
Has anti-inflammatory properties: The fermented compounds in sauerkraut can help reduce inflammation in the body.
Sauerkraut can be enjoyed alone, as a side dish or in various recipes, making it versatile and healthy food to include in the diet.
It is easy to prepare, with white or purple cabbage, vinegar, preferably organic apple cider vinegar.
