CELAC 2023:

Latin America

Integration

back on track

At the end of January, the VII Summit of Heads of State of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) was held with the presence of 14 leaders and -for the first time- representatives of the 33 member countries.

The Summit was held in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, sponsored by President Alberto Fernández , who officiated the organization's pro-tempore presidency. At his term, the presidency passed to the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves.

The integration of the Caribbean and Latin American peoples was reflected in a final declaration with strong messages and projects to strengthen the democratic institutions of the continent and the defense of natural resources and the protection of the environment in a framework of peace and solidarity.

Here is the analysis in Spanish of the Summit, by Juan Carlos Pocho Salcedo, Rosario Lara and Enrique Rob Lunski in La Revista al Aire   https://youtu.be/GpSLlrYcfVk
