This is how the increase in overweight and obesity in Latin America and the Caribbean is described by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Around 360 million people in Latin America have a weight greater than the recommended based on the person's height and other indicators. This figure represents 58% of the total population of the region, according to a joint investigation carried out by PAHO and FAO

in 2019. COVID19 only

aggravated this situation.

In the radio program Mesa de Barrio, we talked with Dr. Alberto Cormillot, an Argentine doctor, university professor, creator and director of the nutrition and health clinic, from the ALCO Foundation, from Dieta club, from the nutrition careers of the Isalud university and from the Municipal Hospital of Malvinas Argentinas. He wrote more than 50 books and published in more than 100 international conferences. He was Minister of Social Action of the province of Buenos Aires and Minister of Health of the City of Buenos Aires.
