S O S ... Planet Earth ... S O S
And we are in April, the month in which we celebrate our Pachamama, the planet in which we live, this planet that we are used to abusing, violating, and mistreating. But today Earth month becomes a forced wake-up call due to a virus so tiny and powerful that it puts the human race in check and, paradoxically, gives relief to the planet
.
Well, like our bodies, Earth, this planet that is our home is a living organism that is sick. And its illness has serious consequences for those who live in it: all of us.
The consequences of climate change –in the form of raising temperatures, raising ocean levels, increase hurricanes, even dryer lands, -- are already visible in the world and in Latin America, no matter how reluctant we are to identify them as such.
The temperature of the Earth has increased by 1.1ºC since the period before the Industrial Revolution and continues to rise, to the point that the last five years (2015-2019) has become the warmest since there are records , according to data from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
So, for your and our sake and that of the Planet,
STAY AT HOME until it’s safe!
