How do kids learn to use their phone and search on the internet? How did you learn to use the stereo in your car?
Some people might need to read the instructions to turn on a new device, while many others just ignore the instruction book and learn from their mistakes. In education these choices are part of the self-learning process.
Nowadays self-learning has taken a more significant role in education since the rise of the internet.
Sometimes, it can be used as a complement for a lesson; in other cases, people just google or watch a video about things they don't know; and the number of learning apps, websites, and platforms are constantly increasing.
