There’s something about beginnings that captivates our human subconscious mind and being. Perhaps it’s the desire to change the course of our lives, perhaps it’s the call for new adventures, perhaps it’s a way to give a new meaning to our existence. Or perhaps, it’s life that is calling upon us to remind us that the meaning of life is living every moment as new. Whatever it is, the arbitrariness of the New Year gives us a fresh opportunity to start anew, even if our daily routines stay the same.
It’s the way we plant ourselves in front of our activities, surroundings, circumstances and others that determines whether they are the same old same, or something new. In other words, it’s our own thinking, actions, and presence of mind and spirit that needs to be new. Otherwise, even new surroundings soon become stale because we are still the same.
This last year, the concept of implicit biases (see article here) stuck with me; so, it’s only appropriate that my desire/resolution in this New Year, for ABClatino is to bring you, our faithful readers, followers and coworkers a fresh perspective on things old and new. Happy New Year!!!!!!!
