A country that neglects children is a country without future
"A society that abandons children and that marginalizes the elderly cuts its roots and obscures its future. Every time a child is abandoned, and an elder person marginalized, not only an act of injustice is done, but it also represents the failure of that society." Pope Francis
Today we reflect on the concepts of “justice and liberty for all” and “the pursuit of happiness.” And we reflect on the policies, persecutions and tragedies to which our Latin American children are subjected in their countries of origin and when they reach "the promised land," the United States.
