YUCATAN: Land of Mayans and Cenotes Part 1

By E.R.L. and Elisa Pritzker

On this occasion Mundo Nómada travels the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico. Beyond the tourist attraction that is evident everywhere, we were able to discover part of the cultural and millenary essence that fills this region with a very special energy.

It is that this is the cradle of the Mayan civilization and the landscape offers us the natural beauty of the Cenotes (eyes of water) intimately related to the Mayans. This time we talk with Jesus Alberto Cupul Ton, an authentic Maya who tells us stories transmitted by his grandfather and leaves us a message in Maya. We also visit Che Chen Itzá, one of the great Mayan cities preserved as a historical monument of humanity. Next month we visit the magical cenotes.
