PARROTS FOR PEACE

The Parrots For Peace celebrate Earth Day and have “planted” Peace Poles in various locations to remind us all in the languages of our many cultures: “May Peace Prevail on Earth.” Their own motto is, “May there be Peace on Mother Earth between all People, Animals and Nature as we learn to live in harmony with our One Shared Mother… Earth.” They appear at peace and ecology festivals throughout NYC, the Hudson Valley, and the eastern seaboard.
The Parrots For Peace are a family of araras, as the blue and gold macaws are called by the Amazon rainforest indigenous people which is their approximation of the sounds made by flocks as they fly.
