Women may have different signs or symptoms in menopause. That is because estrogen is used by many parts of the body. As a woman has less estrogen, she may have several symptoms. Many women feel very mild symptoms that are easily treated with lifestyle changes, such as avoiding caffeine or carrying a portable fan to use when one of the sudden heats, also known as hot flashes, begins. Some women do not require treatment at all. Other symptoms may be more problematic.
