OBEDIENCE TRIAL
In 1979 ABC’s 3rd Vice President, Wayne Fessenden, recommended that an
Obedience Trial be held in conjunction with the National Field Trial and Specialty Show.
The rst ABC National Obedience Trial became a reality in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1981.
of competition at the Nationals required to win the elusive AKC Triple Championship.
Ch. Prince Valiant’s Spring A’rival, UDT is the only dog to have won the National
Specialty Show (1987) and the National Obedience Trial (1988). Ch./OTCH/AFC Lafayette
King Trooper, UDT is the leading winner of the national High in Trial title, with four wins.
Little Egypt Catapult Cathy, UD, SH and Ch/OTCH Chilcote’s Credit Check UDX AX AXJ JH
have each won the National Obedience Trial three times.
